1. Please introduce your company.

Founded in 1981, Taewoong is a global integrated steel company that has been building on its forging business. Since 2016, it has focused on steelmaking as a new growth engine, establishing an integrated production system encompassing raw material production, forging, and processing. Taewoong boasts an annual steelmaking capacity of 700,000 tons and a forging capacity of 350,000 tons. Its steelmaking facility, which began operations in 2016, is a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly facility equipped with a 120-ton electric furnace and continuous casting equipment capable of producing the world's largest 1,000-pi round bloom. The forging facility boasts ultra-large forging facilities, including a 15,000-ton press and an 11,500-ring rolling mill. Based on over 40 years of accumulated technology, the company possesses two world-class products. Taewoong is a leading global renewable energy company, with a market share of approximately 30% in the global wind power component market. In the shipbuilding sector, Taewoong has established long-term partnerships with major clients such as Samsung Heavy Industries, Hanwha Ocean, and major Japanese shipbuilders.

2. What is your company's main theme for KORMARINE?

Taewoong has built a stable business structure by partnering with over 500 global clients across diverse business areas, including wind power, nuclear power, shipbuilding, petrochemicals, industrial machinery, and plants.

In the forging business, based on technology accumulated over 40 years, Taewoong boasts a 15,000-ton press and an 11,500-ring rolling mill, the upgrade of which will be completed in September of this year. This capability, possessed by only a few companies globally, is a key competitive advantage for Taewoong.

Furthermore, Taewoong's in-house steelmaking facility enables the timely supply of customized materials that meet demanding quality requirements, enabling the company to expand its business beyond nuclear power and offshore wind power to nonferrous metals and aerospace, next-generation industries.

At this year's KORMARINE, Taewoong's key competencies are wind power, SMR (Small Modular Reactors), and shipbuilding, key business areas in the era of eco-friendly energy.
