The shipbuilding market in China is mainly occupied by enterprises such as China State Shipbuilding Group, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry, Jiangsu Yangzijiang Group Co., LTD and Jiangsu New Era Shipbuilding Company. This round of new ship prices began to rise in December 2020, and the increase rate and speed in 2021 are very fast, but the increase rate has slowed down significantly in 2022. From January to December 2022, China's shipbuilding completion volume of 37.86 million deadweight tons, accounting for 47% of the global market, down 4.6% year-on-year, is still in the forefront of the world. The competitiveness of China's shipbuilding industry will continue to increase and occupy a crucial position in the global market. The capacity of the first group of leaders is already at full capacity by 2029. The orders of the second type of large cruise container (more than 150,000 tons, more than 13,000 containers) have been scheduled to 2026-2027. There is still surplus capacity for the third class of small size vessels, and it is not a problem to start construction in 2024 and deliver the ships in 2025. China's shipbuilding international market share has ranked first in the world for 13 consecutive years. In 2022, China's shipbuilding orders exceeded 100 million deadweight tons again after six years.

At present, the world has gradually entered the "industry 4.0" period, for various related industries, the production and manufacturing of green and intelligent will become the main development trend. In February 2022, the Ministry of Transport proposed to promote the application of new energy and clean energy powered ships, and promote the continuation of the new and reconstruction of LNG single-fuel powered ships encouragement policy. Actively support the research and development and promotion of pure electricity, fuel cell and other power vessels, and actively guide the green transformation of the shipbuilding industry at the policy level. In 2022, the proportion of new orders for green powered ships reached 49.1%, the highest level in history. It is expected that by 2023, the scale of China's ship market will reach 8.5 trillion RMB, an increase of 38.5% over 2017. Shipbuilding is a systematic engineering, supply chain supporting indispensable, the current key parts or the bottom of the initial material import demand is large. In 2022, the loading rate of domestic Marine main engine, Marine boiler, Marine crane, Marine gas supply system (FGSS) and other supporting equipment will continue to increase.

In 2022, the demand for offshore oil and gas equipment will expand, the international oil price will fluctuate at a high level, and the spot price of Brent international crude oil will once rise to $139 / barrel, a new high since the financial crisis, which will drive the global offshore oil and gas equipment market demand to expand, and domestic offshore engineering equipment enterprises will seize the opportunity to achieve positive results.

The transport of goods in the maritime industry can be divided into dry bulk transport, container transport, liquid and hazardous chemical transport.

From the perspective of container transportation, from 2016 to 2022, China's port container throughput continues to rise.
